Doggie Street Festival 2010

Jude Pauline Artenstein deserves a huge “thank you” for her effort in creating awareness about the pet overpopulation problem in San Diego.  Judy is the organizer of the annual Doggie Street Festival here in San Diego.  This festival is a day of celebrating the lives of rescued dogs - woof!

Gigi, Dozer and I attended the Doggie Street Festival today and we were reminded that there are so many caring dog lovers involved in the rescue efforts who need our help to keep up the good fight against over population. The festival also reminded me that much more work needs to be done and that these groups need our ongoing financial support to get it done.

As we walked through it was so fun to see the many rescue groups who were there and who brought some of their adoptable dogs to interact with the public.  Doggies were falling in love with potential new owners and many of them found new homes today!

The festival also celebrated the many unsung heroes in the rescuing efforts here in San Diego and they are the compassionate volunteers who selflessly donate their time.

Here are some of the rescue groups that were there and I want to send out a THANK YOU to each one:

2nd Chance Dachshund Rescue

All of these organizations and the people who help run them deserve our gratitude and ongoing support.  Many of these organizations need volunteers, donations and financial support.  Contact an organization and ask how you can help save a dog’s live.

Thanks Jude for all your hard work!
